In Havnegaten by the Holmestrand guest harbor lies an older city coat of arms cast in iron, worn by shoes, weather and sea air. Here the city and the fjord meet, and the motif still bears the clear signature of a place that has lived with a harbor, traffic and work close by.

 On the manhole cover, the eagle steps forward with outstretched wings, strong and alert. It holds the anchor and the rod of Aesculapius – a meeting between the anchor of seafaring and the sign of care – and in the heart shield, the frigate is glimpsed, like a little story about course, craft and horizon.
