Original - Drammen 200th anniversary cap
This print comes from Drammen's 200th anniversary manhole cover, made for the city's anniversary in 2011 – the celebration of 200 years since Bragernes and Strømsø were merged into one market town under the name Drammen in 1811. The manhole cover was designed by Yngvar Heimstad, and in the motif the city's identity lies close to the iron: the Drammenselva with boating, the characteristic Ypsilon bridge, the Tømmerfløteren statue, Aass Bryggeri and Drammen railway station. Together, it becomes a small map of belonging, where the river binds together what was once two.
The manhole cover was officially unveiled by Mayor Tore Opdal Hansen on May 24, 2011, and placed in central locations in the city.
The print was taken at Muusøya.
