Original - Drammen 175th anniversary cap

This original print carries a story of professional knowledge and city pride. Yngvar Heimstad has lived a lifetime in the manhole cover industry through his work on water and sewage in Drammen Municipality, and when the city was to mark its 175th anniversary, it was he who brought forward the idea of a jubilee manhole cover. The motif he had recently designed for a member badge for Drammen Guttemusikk – Bragernes Church and the tower buildings – was given new life in cast iron, and still remains as a silent trace on Bragernes Square.

 The original is signed, and the print is in Drammen's manhole cover warehouse, with the characteristic weight and richness of detail that only a direct print can provide.
