Original - Borre
Borre has a name that goes back a long way – Old Norse “Borró”, an origin that is still not definitely explained. In this print you will encounter a manhole cover that belongs in a municipal history with clear changes: from the establishment in 1837, via the separation of Horten in 1857 and to the merger that later received the name Horten.
The manhole cover is a small piece of everyday architecture – the silent signature of cast iron on the street surface – and at the same time a symbol of the community's infrastructure, made to withstand time, weather and foot traffic. When it is lifted out of its context and becomes an original print, you get both a physical texture and a local narrative to bring home.
